Yesterday I spoke to the Aeronautics Council of the Department of Transportation, an advisory board created under G.S. §143B-356. Dudley Humphrey, a council member from Winston-Salem, asked me to look into his appointment status to ensure that he was representing the proper Congressional district, as required by statute. There are other categories as well for membership as well.

Mr. Humphrey thought he was a representative of the 10th Congressional District. When he arrived at the meeting, the council listed him as a representative of the 12th district.

As you know, Winston-Salem has been divided into several congressional districts and, with the adoption of the recent redistricting map, it is unclear which district he is in.

Mr. Humphrey said that he enjoys his work with the Council and wants to continue. At the same time, he wants to be certain that his appointment falls within the statutory requirements. If you can check this for him, I would appreciate it.
