NC Board of Ethics (Archives)



The Board of Ethics operates under Executive Order 1. The members are appointed by the governor and serve four year terms. The current board has a membership of seven.

Gubernatorial and legislative appointees to boards which are not advisory and state employees serving in policy-making, exempt positions are required to file statements of economic interest annually with the board. The board reviews the statements for actual or potential conflict of interest and notifies the proper officials. The board renders advisory opinions and hears complaints.
